Taber graduated from RISD with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts in 1998 and a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture in 1999. Upon graduation she started full time at Searle & Searle.
In 2000 Taber and her husband moved to Seattle, Washington. While there, Taber worked for Murase Associates where she gained experience in large urban projects, LEEDS rated projects and corporate campuses. Many of these projects heavily incorporated the use of large-scale stone sculptures and complex water features.
Taber returned to her native Rhode Island, and to Searle & Searle in 2005. Since then she has worked on a wide spectrum of project types ranging from residential design and institutional Master Planning, to adaptive reuse of mill spaces and historic preservation. She is focused on promoting sustainable site design and green building practices within the context of complex urban and historic projects.
Taber enjoys landscape painting and photography and her work is frequently shown in galleries throughout Southern New England.
